India v England 4th Test tips

The best England can hope for now is a series draw, as India went 2-0 up with two Tests to go after winning by eight wickets last time out in Mohali.

There will be a change or two for the tourists, though, as impressive teenage opener Haseeb Hameed has been sent home after suffering a hand injury, meaning one of Ben Duckett or recent call-up Keaton Jennings will take his place.

Meanwhile spinner Liam Dawson may get a chance, and Stuart Broad is in line for a return to the XI after missing the last match.

England and India to draw odds

Alastair Cook and co may be 2-0 down but they have a decent record in past Test matches in Mumbai, having won the last two and lost just three of their 12 meetings there.

Five of those, meanwhile, have been draws, and with India the favourites another share of the spoils is more likely than an away victory, with tempting odds of 9/2 available.

Alastair Cook to be top England batsman

Of Cook’s 30 Test centuries, six have been against India, with the latest coming in the first match of the current series – which also happened to be in a draw.

The England skipper also hit a fantastic hundred the last time he played in Mumbai, with 122 to help his side to a win back in 2012. Back him to be the visitors’ top batsman in the first innings once more at 7/2.

Virat Kohli to be top India batsman

As always, opposing captain Kohli tops India’s batting market at 9/4, and for good reason as he is number three Test batter in the world rankings.

To justify that, he’s got the best Men in Blue score three times from a possible six innings so far this series – including twice in the first.

Ben Stokes to be top England bowler

Ben Stokes can impress with the ball once again.

Bar Adil Rashid, England’s spinners have surprisingly been overshadowed by their seamer teammates throughout the series, and Stokes in particular really seems to have mastered the Indian pitches.

The all-rounder managed a five-for last time out in Mohali in the opening innings, and so is a hugely enticing 5/1 to be best bowler again for the tourists.

Ravichandran Ashwin to be man of the match

As for the Man of the Match award, you can get a great price of 9/2 on it being spinning all-rounder Ashwin, who is heavy favourite in the Indian bowling market and seventh equal in the batting.

It was his inspired knock of 72 in the last Test that kept India’s tail-end wagging and thus a first innings lead to eventually help them to win, while he has 15 wickets so far from the opening three matches.
