Chepstow tips for Tuesday: Defi Du Seuil can show his style On Tour
Our horse racing experts look at Chepstow tips for December 27, and the supporting card for the Coral Welsh Grand National day, with Defi Du Seuil bets and On Tour odds among those fancied.
Defi Du Seuil bets red hot at Chepstow
Defi Du Seuil has created a huge impression in winning both his starts this season, so can take the step up into Grade 1 company in his stride to complete the hat-trick in the coral.co.uk Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow (14:00).
This gelding shaped with bags of promise when runner-up on debut in a bumper and duly went one better to open his account with an easy seven-length success at Lyon-Parilly.
Defi Du Seuil was then purchased by leading Irish owner JP McManus and cruised home by five lengths on his debut for trainer Philip Hobbs in a minor contest at Ffos Las.
Connections then pitched the three-year-old into what looked a hot Grade 2 contest around Prestbury Park last month, and he could not have been more impressive in beating Diable De Sivola by 1 3/4 lengths.
After racing wide and being held-up in touch by jockey Barry Geraghty, Defi Du Seuil made stealthy headway to join the leader three from home travelling powerfully and after a good leap at the last quickened clear to win with consummate ease.
Huge engine and bags of potential

Defi Du Seuil bets are once again fancied and among Coral’s Chepstow tips for December 27.
It was a breathtaking performance which suggested he had a huge engine and needing keeping firmly onside.
That view was confirmed when the son of Voix Du Nord readily beat Coeur de Lion by 1 3/4 lengths at the same venue earlier in the month, where he again travelled ominously well throughout before only having to be shaken-up after the last to put the race instantly to bed.
Defi Du Seuil is currently 8/1 favourite with Coral for the 2017 Triumph Hurdle on the back of that victory, and so punters can expect him to win this and cement his position at the head of the ante post market for that contest.
Onenightinvienna has a Grand chance in Coral Welsh National
The Coral Welsh Grand National is the feature race on a cracking card (14:40) and Onenightinvienna looks to have plenty going for him, so he’s decent each-way value in a typically fierce and wide-open renewal of the prestigious 3m 5f contest.
Trained by Hobbs, who saddled Dream Alliance to win the race in 2013, the gelding is a lightly-raced and progressive stayer who has won two of his six starts over the larger obstacles.
He scored in good style on seasonal reappearance and looks to have the ideal profile for this stamina sapping test. To find out why check out our full in-depth preview of the 2016 Coral Welsh Grand National.
On Tour odds weighted to strike

Backing On Tour odds is also among our Chepstow tips for December 27.
On Tour looks nicely treated on the pick of his form and worth a wager at the odds on offer in the 2m 3f coral.co.uk Best Price Guaranteed On Horse Racing Handicap Chase (15:15).
Trained by Evan Williams, this gelding was a smart hurdler and looked a chaser to keep onside when winning his first two starts over the larger obstacles last season.
In the first of those at Exeter, On Tour only had to be driven out to beat Otago Trail by a cosy half-a-length.
The runner-up is a well-regarded sort who has won three times since and is now rated 150, so that gives the form a solid look and suggests On Tour is potentially very well-treated off a mark of 140.
On Tour went on to score in similar fashion at Carlisle when value for more than the 3/4 length winning margin, and shaped really well on seasonal reappearance when beaten just a length by Thomas Brown at Aintree.
Although disappointing last time out when well-beaten at Newbury, On Tour had excuses as he broke a blood vessel and is definitely worth another chance to build on the promise of his Aintree effort.
