Bookies see flurry of bets for White Christmas in Scotland

SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Leading bookmaker Coral has been a flurry of bets for there being a White Christmas in Scotland in which the firm is now odds-on at 4-6 (from 5-4) that there will be snowfall tomorrow. Aberdeen is 3-1 to have a White Christmas, while Edinburgh and Glasgow are both in the betting at 7-2.

The bookies don’t expect there to be a White Christmas anywhere across the rest of Great Britain as Coral is offering double figure odds on all major cities in England, Northern Ireland and Wales experiencing snow on Christmas Day, with Newcastle 11/1, Manchester 14/1, Belfast 14/1, London 16/1 and Cardiff 25/1.

Coral is offering 2-1 that tomorrow will be the warmest Christmas on record in the UK, while they go 10-11 for the wind speed to reach 100mph anywhere across mainland UK.

“The betting suggests those living in Scotland could be set for a White Christmas tomorrow as we are now odds-on that snow will fall on Christmas Day,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“We don’t expect there to be snow anywhere across the rest of Great Britain though and punters agree as we have seen more bets for tomorrow being the warmest Christmas Day on record than for there to be snow fall,” added Hill.
