2016 UK Championship last 16 tips: Starring Stevens v O’Sullivan, Higgins v Allen and acca
2016 UK Championship last 16 tips
Following many shock exits already at this season’s UK Championship in York, the prestigious Barbican Centre is down to its final 16 players battling it out for a quarter-finals spot.
All of reigning champion Neil Robertson, Judd Trump and Ding Junhui have been sent home early, leaving the door open for a potential first-time winner or the likes of serial victor Ronnie O’Sullivan to pounce on Yorkshire territory.
So, ahead of the latest set of baize battles, Coral outline our 2016 UK Championship last 16 tips for punters and fans to enjoy for Wednesday and Thursday.
Rocket to lead Stevens 3-1 after four frames

The Rocket is a firm favourite for another UK success and looks set to oust Stevens.
Tournament front runner O’Sullivan has dropped just a single frame and recorded two whitewash victories so far in this year’s UK event, while he also boasts a dominant record over next opponent Matthew Stevens.
The Rocket has beaten the Welshman on 15 occasions from their 20 ever meetings since 1999, including at the Crucible last year. Therefore, back the in-form five-time world champion at 29/20 to take a 3-1 lead over Stevens in their last 16 encounter.
Deciding frame between Higgins and Allen

Higgins v Allen bets look promising for a deciding frame between the pair of in-form cueists.
In what is the pick of the last 16 clashes in York, four-time Crucible king John Higgins collides with fellow in-form cueist Mark Allen. The latter Northern Irishman edged a close final frame shootout against Ryan Day last time out to set up this clash.
Both men have showcased strong potting form on the table in Yorkshire and this has all the makings of being an epic showdown. Backing there to be a deciding frame at 16/5 could therefore be worthwhile!
Williams to down Highfield 6-4

Williams has once again rolled back the years at the UK Championship.
Former world titlist Mark Williams is continuing to roll back the years in yet another ranking event and he enters his match-up with Liam Highfield on the back of a gritty 6-5 result over Ricky Walden.
There has never been more than two frames to separate this pair in their previous encounters and Williams can be backed at 11/2 to maintain that streak by earning a 6-4 success here.
Brecel to overcome Maguire

Back Brecel to triumph as part of our 2016 UK Championship last 16 tips.
Belgian hotshot Luca Brecel looked impressive at the recent Northern Ireland Open and has continued that clinical break-building form into the UK, where he next takes on veteran Scot Stephen Maguire.
In this intriguing battle between the youth of Brecel and experience of Maguire, the attack-minded Belgian is 6/4 to simply get the better of his opponent and progress in this latest appearance.
