England 3-0 Scotland

Chris Coleman’s Euro 2016 heroes were held for a disappointing draw against Serbia this weekend, seeing them sit third in their qualification group. Gareth Bale’s opener was cancelled out late on by Newcastle United forntman Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Austria 0-1 Republic of Ireland

Martin O’Neill’s outfit cemented his nation’s place as group front-runners after a brilliant away win against Austria. The Republic of Ireland now sit top of Group D. James McClean netted his country’s winner and has scored three times in two matches for the Boys in Green.

Rugby Autumn Internationals

England 37-21 South Africa

Eddie Jones ended England’s decade-long wait for a win over the Rainbow Nation with an impressive display, stretching the Tasmanian coach’s record to 10 games unbeaten.

Just over 12 months ago, England were booted out their own World Cup at the pool stage – what difference a year makes!

Scotland 22-23 Australia

In a cruel repeat of the the infamous World Cup quarter-final last year, Scotland lost out by just a point at Murrayfield. After leading for the majority of the game, Bernard Foley’s boot hammered the final nail into Vern Cotter’s side just as it did over a year ago.

Despite the loss, Scotland’s young stars shone, with Huw Jones scoring two tries on his first international start.

McGregor ousts Alvarez to make history

Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor made history this weekend by becoming the first fighter to hold two-weight belts simultaneously with a second-round TKO of Eddie Alvarez at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
