This weekend saw some fantastic individual displays produced, as Chelsea staked their claim to challenge for the title and Manchester City were held for a point at the Etihad.

You can’t help think this was somewhat of an announcement to the Premier League, that Pickford is a real rising star of goalkeeping. He may have not kept a clean sheet, but Pickford time after time saved the Black Cats from another loss and made game saving stops that saw David Moyes record a crucial win.

Right back: Ashley Young (Manchester Utd)

Many scoffed at Young named as the side’s right back, but was actually excellent on the flank. Young coped with Swansea City’s limited threat, while providing width that allowed Utd’s more creative players in the middle of the park room to operate in.

Centre back: David Luiz (Chelsea)

Luiz produced a mature and calm display against Everton.

He still may be erratic at times, but there was no denying the quality he showed facing Everton, keeping a clean sheet against a talented Toffees frontline. He looked at home in Antonio Conte’s back-three and stifled any chance of an attack with his defensive partners in tandem. He was also denied by Maarten Stekelenburg at the other end.

Centre back: Michael Dawson (Hull City)

Mike Phelan’s struggling Tigers produced a shock comeback performance, featuring a collectors edition rare goal from Dawson. The defender pulled Hull ahead two minutes after Robert Snodgrass drew the side level, to collect their first league win in eight games.

Left back: Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)

New summer signing Marcos Alonso took some time to get going for the Stamford Bridge outfit, but now, in a formation that suits him is excelling. The Spaniard got down the flank well in Chelsea’s 5-0 thrashing of Everton and scored from close range in a superb individual performance.

Central midfield: Marten de Roon (Middlesbrough)

The Dutch midfielder was absolutely everywhere at the Etihad, showing quality throughout the afternoon in the centre of Boro’s spine. The defining moment of the game however, came in extra-time, when De Roon got his head to a George Friend cross – this gained a point for Aitor Karanka’s Boro.

The star was partnered in the centre of the park with veteran Michael Carrick to form a classy duo. Pogba opened Man Utd scoring with a sensational outside of the box effort, in a Swansea City encounter that got the Red Devils back on track while Jose Mourinho watched from the stands.

Attacking midfield: Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

The Brilliant Brazilian recorded a goal and an assist in Liverpool’s 6-1 thrashing of Watford at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s Reds now sit top of the Premier League.

Right wing: Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Since Conte’s Stamford Bridge arrival, Hazard has been on fire. The Belgium star is back to his mesmerising best and dazzled at the weekend by netting twice. Hazard now has seven goals from 11 league games this term as Chelsea make their title tilt.

Centre forward: Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Costa was utterly focused at the weekend and produced a near perfect performance in a dominant display of attacking prowess. The Brazilian-born Spain striker set up Hazard for the first and got on the scoresheet himself by slamming in the third. He now has nine in 11 league games this term.

Left wing: Pedro Rodriguez (Chelsea)

Pedro linked up with his teammates well in his side's 5-0 triumph.

Pedro caused problems for Ronald Koeman’s Toffees all afternoon, and was rewarded for his tireless work by recording two assists and a goal. In a stellar outing for the former Barcelona man, he linked up with his fellow Blues attackers brilliantly.
