Potential destinations for out-of-favour Manchester United wideman Memphis Depay
Potential destinations for Memphis Depay
Netherlands international winger Memphis Depay recently showcased his worth while on international duty, starring in the 3-1 2018 World Cup qualifying victory over Luxembourg with a brilliant brace.
Following his impressive outing for the Clockwork Orange, the out-of-favour Manchester United wideman admitted that his future could soon lie away from Old Trafford, with a move in January highly speculated.

Read on to see potential destinations for Memphis Depay, who has fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho.
“I do not know, we’ll have to see. I focus on United, I do my very best to be able to get minutes,” stated the Dutchman. “I’m going back to United with a good feeling, because I have got minutes here and we won. That is the most important thing.”
The 22-year-old has failed to force himself into Jose Mourinho’s starting XI since the Portuguese boss arrived on the scene, while he previously struggled for minutes under former coach Louis van Gaal too.
With Memphis having refused to rule out a switch away from the Red Devils, Coral outline potential destinations for the Old Trafford misfit.
Everton

Koeman is a keen admirer of Man Utd’s wideman and Everton are seen as top of the pile of potential destinations for Memphis Depay.
Everton are seen as the 2/1 front runners to secure Memphis’ signature in the January transfer window, with Toffees boss Ronald Koeman having earlier outlined intentions on trying to land his compatriot.
“I would like to have him,” stated the Dutch tactician. “I think he is an interesting player. He has great individual qualities. He just needs to play games.”
The Netherlands attacker cost his current employers £25m from Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven in May 2015 and is contracted until 2019, but has played just 20 minutes of domestic action during four substitute showings under Mourinho this season.
Everton adding Memphis to their ranks would give them a huge attacking boost, helping England international Ross Barkley with creative duties and would provide frontman Romelu Lukaku with plenty of support from out wide.
Tottenham

Could Pochettino swoop for Memphis in January?
Memphis may seem like a gamble for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham, but it’s one that could be worth taking in order to bolster their Premier League title credentials (10/1 to join Spurs).
Whether Mourinho would allow one of his own players to join a club seen as domestic rivals remains unclear, though he has done so in the past when offloading Juan Mata to Old Trafford as Chelsea boss.
Argentine coach Pochettino has witnessed Son Heung-min become his key man this current campaign, while Harry Kane is beginning to rediscover his clinical eye for goal after returning from injury. Memphis may be seen as the man to help improve the side in the final third alongside this pair.
AC Milan

A move to AC Milan seems a promising move for the Dutchman.
Long gone are the days of AC Milan’s dominance in both Italy and European competition, though they are slowly rebuilding and still possess the gloss to attract big players to the San Siro.
Memphis could yet prove to be one of those arriving in Milan, with the Dutchman keen to acquire regular first-team football, something he would likely get under Vincenzo Montella on Italian soil.
The young Dutchman shouldn’t have too much trouble working his way into the Rossoneri side, with the club having Keisuke Honda, M’Baye Niang and Suso in the wide areas.
Memphis’ abilities on the wing would be an attractive prospect for Carlos Bacca up front, who could benefit form his creative talents, and Milan are 6/1 to land his services.
Fenerbahce

Could Memphis soon be linking up with former Man Utd frontman Van Persie?
There’s been a recent history of Man Utd players moving to Turkey with Fenerbahce, with both former Old Trafford stars Nani and Robin van Persie having taken this path of late. Could Memphis follow the same route next year? He’s 10/1 to exactly that.
The misfiring Red Devils winger was previously not included in the Europa League squad to face Fenerbahce away from home but he could be given a way out of Manchester by the latter outfit’s present manager and compatriot Dick Advocaat.
“The potential is there for him to be a good player,” stated Advocaat, who worked with Memphis at PSV. “You cannot lose that, he has the quality to be a top player, but the problem for him is that there are so many quality players in that squad.
“So for himself it is important to start playing regularly at the age that he is at — otherwise the way, I think, is that maybe he has to find another solution [club] because he is too good to sit on the bench.”
Monaco

Monaco may well see two former Man Utd misfits in their ranks with Falcao and Memphis.
A move away from the red half of Manchester to the beautiful south of France doesn’t sound like a bad switch to make, and it’s one that Memphis has also been linked with.
With former Man Urd flop Radamel Falcao back in form at Monaco and boss Leonardo Jardim keen to lead his side to Ligue 1 supremacy, Memphis’ signing would be a massive boost to that desired feat.
Monaco already have plenty of forward talent at their disposal, including highly-rated Bernardo Silva, but a loan or permanent switch for Man Utd misfit Memphis could suit both parties.
