“It’s not a crisis yet”

“It’s not a crisis yet, but Jose’s got to get his mojo back,” Shearer told Coral exclusively when asked about Man Utd’s slump.

“In his first time at Chelsea, yes he was ‘the Special One’, he was happy.

“And all we ever heard players say was what a great team spirit they had, what a great man manager he was. Well, that was lost at Chelsea last season and at the moment it is missing at Manchester United,” added the former England captain.

Shearer continued: “From what it looks from the outside, I see Jose and he’s angry, there’s no smile on his face and I understand that because it is very difficult to do that when you’re not winning games.”

“He hasn’t found the key to a lot of his players”

Next, when quizzed on Red Devils, and world, record signing Paul Pogba and whether Mourinho is getting the best from the Frenchman, Shearer stated: “He [Mourinho] hasn’t found the key to a lot of his players yet.”

“Not only Pogba but yes, we have to speak about him because of the money that he cost but [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan, certainly [wayne] Rooney, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic had a fantastic start, hasn’t scored now for such a long time.”

“They’ve gotta get a result and they’ve gotta get one quick,” finished the all-time Premier League top scorer.

“It is worrying times”

As for whether Man Utd are out of the Premier League title race already, Shearer had this to say: “Because of the number of teams that are above them, because of the size of the clubs that are above them then yeah it is worrying times.”

“He hasn’t picked the right team yet or the right players.

While, when considering the Red Devils’ chances of Champions League football next season, Shearer finished with the thought that: “If you win the Europa League you automatically go into the Champions League. That might actually be Manchester United’s best way of getting in there.”

Alan Shearer

Alan Shearer played his entire career at the top level of English football, winning the Premier League title with Blackburn in 1994-95. The following summer he signed for his hometown club, Newcastle United, for a then world record £15 million fee.

He ended his playing career with a record 260 Premier League goals, which still stands today. He also won 63 caps for England, including 34 as captain, and among his 30 international goals were five scored at Euro 96, a total that won him the Golden Boot at that tournament.

Now the chief pundit on Match Of The Day, Alan was one of the first two players inducted into the Premier League Hall Of Fame this year.
