Fantasy football transfer tips

The Premier League is back for the 11th instalment of fixtures before the international break, and features some intriguing encounters and individual match-ups, not to mention the small matter of a north London derby.

With this in mind, you might be tempted into some selection alterations so, in light of this, Coral football writers have picked out some Premier League fantasy football transfer tips…

Back Costa to continue fine form

Chelsea’s Diego Costa has been in sensational goal getting form this season, finding the net on eight occasions in only 10 games – a run that sees him lead the Premier League in scoring.

Costa features in our fantasy football transfer tips.

Costa features in our fantasy football transfer tips.

Not only does he possess a great record this season, but boasts solid previous outings against Everton coming into the Stamford Bridge side’s clash. The Brazilian-born Spain striker has netted three in the same number of league outings against Goodison Park’s Toffees and looks set to emulate history.

At a fantasy league price of £10.4m, Costa may sit in the pricey upper echelons of Premier league forwards, but has produced a tremendous return thus far. Antonio Conte’s hitman has racked up 64 points this campaign, the second highest total of any forward in the game.

Combine Costa scoring form with the Ronald Koeman’s faltering backline – keeping only one clean sheet in their previous seven outings – selecting Costa looks wise.

However, a case could be made for selecting Romelu Lukaku ahead of Costa. The former Blue has two against his former club since leaving and is the fantasy Premier League’s highest points scorer this season. At £9.8m, it may fall in with more players’ price points – Lukaku is 13/2 to score first against his former side.

Sanchez to sink Spurs

Alexis Sanchez is experiencing a fantastic start to the season, notching six strikes and four assists in 10 outings. The two-time Copa America winning Chilean has been directly involved in eight goals in his past eight Premier League appearances, and is at the centre of everything this flying Arsenal side do – losing once all season.

Sanchez looks likely to net against Spurs.

Sanchez looks likely to net against Spurs.

Sanchez found the net on his last appearance against the Gunners’ north London rivals Tottenham, a team they face this weekend.

Spurs have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last two matches in all competitions, and are coming off a terrible Champions League display with Bayer Leverkusen – losing 1-0 at Wembley.

Arsenal’s Sanchez is 11/2 to net two or more against the Lilywhites, a feat he has managed twice this term against different opposition.

Bargain buys

Away from the expensive Premier League talent, there’s also some cracking bargain buys on offer. Southampton face the toothless Hull City at the weekend and should be backed to keep a clean sheet, as Mike Phelan’s Tigers remain goalless after their last two outings, netting just twice in their last five.

Take advantage of this by adding Virgil van Dijk for for £5.4m or the £5m Fraser Forster, a pair that have recorded 60 points between them this season.

Allen has racked up the points recently.

Joe Allen has been an excellent acquisition for Mark Hughes’ Stoke City. Since arriving in Staffordshire, the Euro 2016 Wales star has four goals and two assists in his last five games. At just £5.2m, a bargain Allen buy could bag you the crucial points to take you top of your table.

Our final fantasy Premier League football tip is Burnley’s Tom Heaton. The ex-Manchester United man starred against his former side last weekend and could continue his super saving form against Crystal Palace.
