Ed Balls tops betting to leave Strictly this weekend

Ed Balls is the 11-8 favourite with leading bookmaker Coral to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing this weekend where he tops the betting ahead of Robert Rinder who can be backed at 13-8 to exit, while Claudia Fragapane is 5-1 to bow out.

Despite topping the market to leave this weekend, Balls is the 9-1 third favourite with Coral to win the show following a huge gamble behind the former Shadow Chancellor who was the 150-1 rank outsider before the series began. Danny Mac is the odds-on 10-11 favourite to lift the Glitterball trophy after he scored a perfect 40 points for his Charleston last Saturday and Louise Redknapp is available at 9-4 to be crowned the winner.

“The betting suggests Ed Balls’ run on Strictly Come Dancing could be coming to an end this weekend as he the favourite in the next elimination market ahead of Judge Rinder,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“Although he is the favourite to leave next, it has not stopped punters backing the former Shadow Chancellor this week to lift the Glitterball trophy in a year that has been full of political upsets,” added Hill.
