Bookies fear biggest X Factor gamble ever on Honey G

Honey G is now as short as 7-1 with leading bookmaker Coral to win X Factor following her performance this evening. The rapper was 150-1 to go all the way before the live shows began, however, her odds have been slashed with each week as punters continue to back her to win the show. At the top of the betting, Matt Terry remains odds-on at 5-6 to go all the way, while Emily Middlemas was cut into 11-4 (from 3-1) this evening.

In the next elimination market, 4 of Diamonds are the 6-5 favourites with Coral to leave this weekend following the latest round of performances. Saara Aalto is 9-4 to depart tomorrow evening and Ryan Lawrie can be backed at 7-2.

“At the start of the competition we thought Honey G was going to be the novelty act which would entertain and hang around for a few weeks before leaving. However, what has transpired is the biggest gamble in X Factor history and if she was to go all the way, bookmakers could be looking at a half a million pay-out on the rapper,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“In the next elimination market, 4 of Diamonds are the favourites to leave tomorrow evening, while the betting suggest Saara Alto and Ryan Lawrie could also be in trouble,” added Hill.
