A Coral customer from Aberdeen used £10 of free bets on a weekend football fivefold acca this Saturday that returned over £5,750!
Gary Wood backed Championship leaders Newcastle United to win at Preston North End, League One pair Fleetwood Town and Sheffield United for respective home victories over Gillingham and managerless MK Dons, and League Two pacemakers Carlisle United and Plymouth Argyle to beat Crawley Town and Colchester United. All were victories with both teams to score.
After hitting Preston for six in EFL Cup action last midweek, Newcastle recorded another victory over them – only this time at Deepdale. Jermaine Beckford’s late strike proved insignificant as Aleksandar Mitrovic bagged an earlier second-half brace.
Asa Hunter’s volley secured all three points for Fleetwood after Jake Hessenthaler cancelled out David Ball’s opener at Highbury. Billy Sharp struck on the hour as the Blades got the better of the Dons at Bramall Lane, despite Darren Potter levelling things up after Stefan Scougall scored first.
Jabo Ibehre got Carlisle off and running to a 3-1 victory over Crawley, with Jason Kennedy and Luke Joyce also scoring before half-time. A stoppage time consolation for the visitors couldn’t prevent the Cumbrians winning.
Ryan Donaldson, meanwhile, grabbed a late winner for Plymouth over Colchester in a match where the referee sustained injury and had to be replaced.
