Arsenal and Spurs combined XI ahead of north London derby in Premier League
Arsenal and Spurs combined XI
The pick of the upcoming matchweek 11 fixtures for the Premier League is undoubtedly the north London derby clash between bitter rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.

Wenger and Pochettino will once again go head-to-head in this Sunday’s north London derby.
With only three points separating the capital clubs currently in the top-flight standings within the top five places, there’s high stakes on the line as the pair prepare to collide at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
It’s Arsene Wenger’s hosts that will enter as odds-on 10/11 favourites for victory with Coral, while Spurs are 3/1 to prevail on their travels and a stalemate can be backed at 12/5 to occur.
So, ahead of the latest derby meeting, Coral outline an Arsenal and Spurs combined XI based on recent form and players that are available for the match. Think we’ve left anyone out or wrongfully included someone? Then let us know below in the comments!
Formation: 4-3-3
Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris

Do you agree with our choice of having Lloris over Cech in the Arsenal and Spurs combined XI?
Both French stopper Lloris and Arsenal’s Petr Cech have kept the same number of clean sheets this season, but it’s Tottenham’s man that gets our nod having conceded the least amount of goals so far.
Right back: Kyle Walker

Walker beats Bellerin to a place in our Arsenal and Spurs combined XI.
Gunners boss Wenger confirmed that his flying Spanish full back Hector Bellerin is a doubt to return to the fold for this season’s maiden north London derby, but Walker would have edged it into our side nevertheless.
The England international right has helped Tottenham keep five clean sheets and has been impressive in attack too, registering two assists from the flanks.
Centre back: Laurent Koscielny

Koscielny has been crucial for the Gunners.
France centre back Koscielny has played a huge part in keeping Arsenal’s defence in check, keeping four shutouts during his outings this term and the skipper has also popped up with a couple of crucial goals in wins over Southampton and Burnley.
Centre back: Jan Vertonghen

Vertonghen has been a key star for Tottenham in defence.
Partnering Koscielny in the heart of this combined XI’s backline is Belgium international Vertonghen, who has starred in Tottenham’s unbeaten run in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has played the full 90 minutes in every domestic clash so far this term and edges out compatriot Toby Toby Alderweireld, who is still carrying a knock, and Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi to a defensive position.
Left back: Danny Rose

Rose has enjoyed himself this season down the left flank.
Despite some injury concerns throughout the course of the campaign to date, Rose makes it into our left back slot after impressive showings in Tottenham’s backline. A goal and an assist add to his notable defensive performances for the capital club.
Defensive midfield: Victor Wanyama

Wanyama was a solid signing for Tottenham and looks worth the money forked out.
Anchoring the combined XI midfield is Kenyan engine Wanyama, who has been a key player for Spurs in the central areas when they have gained success so far this season.
The former Celtic enforcer may not be astute going forward, with just one goal this term, but he has been an important factor in sitting in front of Pochettino’s backline.
Centre midfield: Dele Alli

Tottenham’s success depends a lot on the form of midfielder Alli.
With three strikes in 10 games for Sunday’s visitors to the Emirates, Alli makes it into our midfield three, having impressed again so far this term.
The England prospect always looks a bright spark for his team and could be the difference this weekend, when he is 14/5 to get on the scoresheet anytime.
Attacking midfield: Mesut Ozil

Ozil scored a sublime solo effort in the Champions League during midweek.
Germany playmaker Ozil has been in fantastic form for the Gunners both domestically and in Europe this season, racking up three goals and an assist in the Premier League.
With his superb creative abilities, Arsenal’s number 10 was a simple choice for our combined XI.
Right wing: Theo Walcott

Walcott should be fit for Sunday’s clash and will be a huge boost if so.
Wenger has stated that Walcott should feature in Sunday’s encounter on home soil and he will be a huge boost if recovered from injury on time.
The Gunners wideman has been in superb form, with five goals and two assists secured in his nine Premier League outings.
Left wing: Son Heung-min

Spurs playmaker Son was an obvious choice in our selections.
Tottenham attacker Son has gone from strength to strength this term, becoming a key component under Pochettino by firing in four times and setting up two goals across seven appearances.
Striker: Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez has been superb this season and rightfully takes his place up top in our Arsenal and Spurs combined XI.
With an outstanding six strikes and four assists already racked up so far this current campaign, there was only one man worthy of leading the line in this combined XI.
Arsenal’s clinical Chilean Sanchez has been emphatic and will enter proceedings on Sunday at 9/2 to open the scoring.
