After overtaking Novak Djokovic at the top of the ATP rankings, Andy Murray can now proudly look back at his career and say that he has been world number one, a champion of Wimbledon, the US Open, Olympics and Davis Cup.

But there could be yet more accolades coming his way by the beginning of 2017, as Coral rate him as the odds-on favourite to both claim yet another Sports Personality of Year Award (1/2) and even a knighthood (1/3)!

Murray is now a Wimbledon, Olympic, US Open and Davis champion, as well as being current world number one.

The superstar Scot finally toppled his old rival Djokovic on Saturday after the Serb was knocked out of the recent Paris Masters the day before and Murray’s semi-final opponent Milos Raonic pulled out injured.

To top it all off the 29-year-old even claimed the title after defeating John Isner 2-1, to thus end Novak’s run of three-in-a-row.

Murray to be first three-time SPOTY winner?

Murray is now on course for a third SPOTY, ahead of the likes of 2016 Olympic heroes Alistair Brownlee, Mo Farah, Laura Trott, and Nick Skelton, as well as Real Madrid wing wizard Gareth Bale.

Gaining it would make him the first person in the award’s 62-year history to do so, and above fellow multiple winners Nigel Mansell, Henry Cooper and Damon Hill after he topped the voting in 2013 and 2015.

Meanwhile, a knighthood would see Murray become one of the very stars to earn the esteemed title while still active in his sport – along with the likes of Sirs Ben Ainslie and Bradley Wiggins.

ATP Finals up next for new number one Murray

As for more tennis titles he can still claim, the season-ending ATP Tour Finals are coming up soon from November 13th-20th at London’s O2 Arena, and surely sealing a maiden title at the event would secure the above accolades?

With Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal not participating, Djokovic is Murray’s only real threat, through the Serb’s decline mean that the Scotsman is now the 5/4 favourite.

Other tempting special prices are on offer too, as 7/4 says he can match his feat last year by winning one Grand Slam in 2017. Odds of 11/4 can be taken on him claiming two, 9/1 for three and 33/1 the Calendar Slam (all four).
