Andy Murray 8-15 to be BBC Sports Personality of the Year

Andy Murray is 8-15 with leading bookmaker Coral to be crowned the BBC Sports Personality of the Year for 2016 after the world number one won the Paris Masters this afternoon. Murray, bidding for his third SPOTY award, sits ahead of Alistair Brownlee and Mo Farah in the betting at 3-1 and 5-1 respectively.

“It’s been a huge weekend in the career of Andy Murray. Not only is he now the number one ranked player in the world, he added the Paris Masters title to his collection this year prompting a flurry of bets for the Scotsman to be named the 2016 BBC Sports Personality of the Year where he is now odds-on to win the award,” said Coral’s John Hill
