Coral’s rumour reel

The transfer window may not be open until January, but that hasn’t stopped Premier League managers sniffing around for some deals which could be agreed swiftly upon the next market commencing.

Top tier outfits have some time to wait before deals can be done, yet many coaches are still window shopping, as the domestic action currently takes a back seat to the season’s second international break, which means plenty of scouting opportunities.

Man Utd scouting Bailey

One team reportedly on such duties is Manchester United, with Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho having sent chief scout Jim Lawlor to cast his eyes over Genk winger Leon Bailey.

The Red Devils are keen on acquiring the 19-year-old, who turned down their top-flight rivals Chelsea and Dutch giants Ajax to move to Belgium, after coming through the youth ranks of Slovak Super Lig side AS Trencin.

With Man Utd scouting Bailey, the highly-rated Jamaican wideman has produced some outstanding displays so far this season, having struck five times already across all competitions.

The club’s main scout Lawlor was present as Bailey dispatched during Genk’s 3-1 Europa League group stage victory over Italian club Sassuolo, as Man Utd prepare to make a move for the talented teenager.

Chelsea seek Fab De Sciglio swap

With Antonio Conte in charge at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are being linked with a host of his compatriots and the latest Italian touted for a switch to London is AC Milan defender Mattia de Sciglio.

The 23-year-old San Siro full back could reportedly arrive at the Bridge with Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas heading in the opposite direction.

Fabregas, now 29 years of age, has become out-of-favour under new boss Conte and the Spaniard may welcome a change of scenery and the chance to test himself in Serie A, having already won league titles in both England and Spain.

Italy international defender De Sciglio has helped the Rossoneri climb to sixth in the league standings this term, but may relish the opportunity to link up with his former national boss Conte on London.
