Pastore to Chelsea rumours

Yesterday, we brought you news that Chelsea were sniffing around a homegrown defender. Today, rumour has it Antonio Conte wants to haunt teams by bagging PSG playmaker Pastore for the Blues.

The 27-year-old Argentina string puller’s future in Paris is uncertain under new coach Unai Emery, meaning there could be an auction for slight number 10 Pastore’s passing talents as soon as January. Chelsea are firing on all cylinders at the moment, but certainly have room for more creativity in their squad alongside Eden Hazard, especially should Cesc Fabregas depart. With a Premier League title tilt in the offing, watch this space.

Do Barcelona want Angel Gomes?

It’s not so happy Halloween news for Man Utd fans, who may feel a chill, after reading that Spanish giants Barcelona want Angel Gomes – the latest highly rated attacking midfield prospect from their academy.

What Barca want, Barca usually get. The starlet, English-born but of Angolan and Portuguese parentage, is still only 16 but has been causing a stir after dazzling displays for United’s youth and the England Under 17 side, for whom he is skipper.

Strootman for Everton arrival

Elsewhere in the Northwest, Everton reportedly have the resurrection of Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman on their radar. Dutch coach Ronald Koeman is said to have his compatriot pencilled in as a replacement for all-rounder Gareth Barry, who is now 35.

Strootman’s contract in the Eternal City runs until 2018, but the Giallorossi could be willing to cash in, as the 26-year-old has only recently returned to action after around two years on the sidelines with a knee injury. Is he worth the risk?

Okazaki of interest to Milan

Finally, Leicester City fans may shiver upon hearing AC Milan are sniffing around one of their strikers. With Japan maestro Keisuke Honda said to be on the outs at the San Siro, the Rossoneri are reportedly tracking his countryman Shinji Okazaki.

The always industrious attacker has become a cult hero at the King Power Stadium after last year’s Premier League title success, but has scored just six times in 42 PL appearances and, at 30, may fancy one last move.
