The transfer market is still months away from reopening in January, but many Premier League managers are on the lookout for possible new acquisitions next year.

There’s a theme of top-flight teams looking to secure some promising young talent in today’s latest transfer gossip, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Liverpool to sign Davila

With Liverpool having began the season in strong form under the guidance of former Borussia Dortmund tactician Klopp, the German is reportedly closing in on the capturing of a highly-rated Uruguayan striker Agustin Davila.

The 17-year-old is understood to be keen on making such a switch to the red half of Merseyside after impressing on a two-week trial with the club. Davila is currently plying his trade in his native homeland with Atletico Penarol and has rise to prominence with their youth side Juveniles Penarol.

Davila has been the top scorer at Under-14s, 15s and 17s at the club level and already struck over 100 times for the outfit, causing a flurry of interest in his services, most notably from the Reds.

The teenage sensation was on target in the Liverpool youth side’s 2-0 win over Walsall during his trial period and will be aiming to emulate compatriot Luis Suarez at Anfield, once a deal is finalised for his signature.

Man Utd and Chelsea seek Swedish striker

As well as Liverpool, top tier rivals Manchester United and Chelsea are also keen on landing a promising youth star, with the two clubs having recently sent scouts to watch the performances of Swedish prospect Alexander Isak.

The 17-year-old frontman has been dubbed ‘the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ in his native country, and the AIK Solna attacker could soon see his future lie in England in either Manchester or London.

In the Swedish hotshot’s breakthrough club campaign he has already dispatched 10 times in 22 outings, and his eye-catching showings have reportedly also caught the eye of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Dortmund.

Isak’s form has seen him called into the Sweden Under-21 set-up, though a senior cap is sure to be on the horizon, as both Man Utd and Chelsea are set to tussle over his services in the coming months.
