The transfer market is still a long time from opening in January, but plenty of Premier League sides are on the hunt for potential new acquisitions next year.
This includes Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, with the right back position being the one which the club want to strengthen, as they prepare to poach a supposed Manchester United target from their rivals’ grasp.

Man City want Fabinho
Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils had previously been linked with a move for Monaco full back Fabinho in the summer and are still reportedly keen on securing his signature, with makeshift defender Antonio Valencia still having to deputise at right back.

Although, the 22-year-old Brazil international is now being pursued by Man Utd’s close city rivals, with Guardiola seeing the Ligue 1 full back as the perfect long-term solution to his problems on the right side of his backline.
The Sky Blues have conceded 10 goals in their last four outings, including damaging defeats to both Tottenham and Barcelona, proving their need for strengthening at the back.
As Man City want Fabinho and Mourinho is also still hoping to land the defender in the winter window, it could lead to a transfer tussle between the two Manchester giants in the coming months.
Toffees track Sporting’s Semedo
Over to the blue half of Merseyside and Ronald Koeman’s Everton are reportedly aiming to secure the signing of Sporting Lisbon’s star defender Ruben Semedo.

Semedo is seen as an ideal replacement for Stones at Goodison Park by Koeman.
The Toffees already boosted their rearguard in the summer, most notably with the impressive deal for Wales international captain Ashley Williams from Swansea City, but they could oversee another high-profile arrival.
Koeman reportedly sees the 22-year-old as a potential star at Goodison Park, having impressed in Portugal so far this current campaign.
The Portugal Under-21 centre back is seen by the Merseysiders as an ideal replacement for John Stones, who departed for £50m to Man City last summer, though they could face competition from AC Milan and Chelsea too.
