Coral’s rumour reel

It appears Antonio Conte is already looking to spend big in the winter window, with Alessio Romagnoli to Chelsea linked in today’s back pages.

The Stamford Bridge side brought in former Blues defender David Luiz from PSG and Marcos Alonso this summer, but neither are yet to make a positive impact.

Romagnoli to Chelsea

Conte must cough up at least £50m this January for AC Milan defender Romagnoli, if they hope to land the centre back – according to reports.

The Italy defender supposedly tops the Chelsea manager’s shopping list, despite having recently splashed out £34m on Luiz.

Milan are thought to have rejected numerous bids in late August for around £35m from various clubs, but the San Siro side held firm.

Conte left the then uncapped Romagnoli out of Italy’s Euro 2016 squad this summer, instead favouring the experienced Juventus trio of Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci.

Romagnoli made his national team debut last week against Spain and was widely regarded as the nation’s best performer.

The 21-year-old was key to Vinzenzo Montella’s backline last term and made 33 Serie A starts.

Foxes after Cafu

Reigning Premier League champions Leicester City are reportedly looking to add Brazilian winger Jonathan Cafu.

The 25-year-old is currently plying his trade in Bulgaria with Ludogorets, and arrived in Europe from Sao Paulo.

He already has six goals in 14 games this term and has caught the eye of Europe’s big boys. Both Lyon and Lazio are thought to be interested in Cafu, along with Leicester.

However, reports coming out of Italy suggest the lure of the Premier League make the Foxes front runners to land the Brazilian.

Spurs seek wonderkid

According to reports, Tottenham scouts watched 17-year-old Leo Da Silva Lopes for Peterborough at the weekend.

The Portuguese has recorded a goal and assist in 13 outings this term and has remained a standout performer.

Posh are reportedly resigned to losing the starlet with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Southampton all vying for his signature.

Lopes operates in the centre of midfield and possesses a strong, athletic frame combined with superb ball carrying skills.
