Romford best bets: Clipper cracking value to collect in Stayers

Fivestar Clipper fancied to get back to winning ways

A 13-race Open card at Romford takes centre stage on Racing Post Greyhound TV tonight (Sky 468, Freesat 250) and T6 Fivestar Clipper looks cracking value to land the Coral Home Of The Price Bomb Stayers at 22:40.

Derek Night’s charge is on of the best stayers at the venue when on-song and has won 28 of his 49 starts at the track.

He is also 16 from 30 when sporting the stripes and a real potent force when pinging the lids.

What is also very interesting is that he returns to action following a break and several recent trials at Hove.

Connections have adopted similar tactics in the past to freshen-up Fivestar Clipper and that has resulted in a win and two seconds.

That is most encouraging and as the sole wide seed he looks nicely housed to flash out and lead. If doing so Clipper would prove very hard to catch on the pick of his form.

Rambo looks too strong for rivals

In the Romford Friday Night 500 Standard (21:56) T1 Toolmaker Rambo looks to have a great draw and rates a solid bet.

Paul Young’s son of Aero Majestic looked an exciting prospect when showing a potent turn of foot to produce a lightning 3.66 sectional and flash from the lids to make all to slam Makeit Boomtime by three lengths on debut over course and distance.

He has since notched another impressive success at the venue in the first round of the Puppy Cup and comes into the contest on the back an easy all-the-way two length victory at Henlow.

Rambo also looks plotted-up on the rails on the inside of two slow starters and a smash break can see him get on the bunny early doors to make all.

Newlawn Tom a tasty punt

T2 Newlawn Tom ran a blinder when runner-up on debut at the track and can go one better to land the Like Coral On Facebook Stayers (22:11).

Trained by Mark Fewnick, the son of Definate Opinion was slowly away before running on strongly to do down by 1 1 3/4 lengths to Coolavanny Bisto.

It was a cracking effort given how the race panned out and Newlawn Tom is entitled to come on a bundle for that sighter.

Back Newlawn Tom to land success.

The 14.03 sectional he produced, despite missing the lids, also reads well given that he is drawn between two rivals who are usually devoid of pace early doors.

Evanta Fantasy can notch another success

T1 Evanta Fantasy has a tremendous strike rate the the track and can further enhance it with victory in the Coral Supports The RGOA Bitches (22:26).

Mark Wallis’ daughter of Vans Escalade has won and incredible 28 of her 56 starts at the venue and has a strike rate of just under 36 per cent when wearing the red jacket.

She will have to be on her toes early doors with main market rival T3 Quivers Camps a fast starter who will likely be cutting in at the first bend, but if holding her pitch Fantasy can slip round in front to quickly open up a race winning advantage.
