Premier League tips for matchweek nine

After plenty of ups and downs in midweek European outings for English teams, the Premier League returns with some crunch clashes and plenty of betting opportunities. So, delve into Coral’s Premier League tips for matchweek nine to find great value.

If it’s Chelsea v Man Utd odds you’re after, stick with us. This one particular match is dominating discussion as Jose Mourinho visits Stamford Bridge for the first time as Red Devils boss.

While, other weekend highlights include Tottenham’s trip to Bournemouth, Manchester City’s meeting with Southampton and a battle between Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion…

Tottenham to lead Bournemouth after 30 mins

As a team that likes to play and keep the ball moving, Bournemouth could actually be ideal opponents for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who have struggled against sides parking the bus.

Unbeaten in the Premier League this season, and against the Cherries in the top-flight, Spurs look superb to back at 12/5 to lead their south coast hosts after 30 minutes.

Last term at Dean Court, Tottenham were already three up following half-an-hour’s football, ultimately squeezing the Cherries 5-1, and were two ahead in an eventual 3-0 victory in the same time frame when next facing Bournemouth at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool victory against West Brom and over 3.5 goals in game

West Brom can be prickly opposition, as Liverpool have experienced in the past. But, Jurgen Klopp has his current contingent dancing to a different tune and the Reds’ free-flowing football should be too much for Tony Pulis’ team.

Odds of 19/10 for the Merseysiders to win and over 3.5 goals in the game are worth a dabble, as across Liverpool’s three outings at Anfield this season there have been a whopping 11 goals scored.

Liverpool love scoring at home.

A 4-0 thrashing of Leicester City and 5-1 hammering of Hull City are included in this, so the Baggies must beware, with four goals notched on Albion’s last visit to Anfield too.

Ozil to score and Arsenal beat Boro

If there’s one Gunners schemer brimming with confidence at the moment it’s Mesut Ozil, as the mischief maker has scored four in his last two Arsenal games.

Having lit up the pitch against Swansea City with a stunning volley and now fresh from a hat-trick in the Champions League, opting for Ozil to score and Arsenal to beat next opponents Middlesbrough is a no-brainer at 21/10.

Arsene Wenger’s side have lost just one in six at home this season, and should have more than enough to explode at the Emirates, against Boro boys that have recorded just one league win.

Man City to sink Saints in second-half

On the surface, Southampton trek to the Etihad at an ideal time, but Man City should be wounded lions after playing well but still being battered by Barcelona.

As Premier League leaders, but with Arsenal and Spurs breathing down their necks, the Citizens must clinch three points on Sunday. And they should, with Saints sturdy but lacking spark up top.

Man City like to leave it late.

Man City like to leave it late.

The Sky Blues do have a habit of leaving things late, however, failing to be in the lead at half-time of all their last six matches. There have been plenty of goals for the Mancunians after the break though with 18 from 34 across all competitions scored in the last 45.

So, snap up odds of 3/1 for a draw at half-time but Man City to win the second-half!

Lingard to score and Red Devils draw among Man Utd v Chelsea odds

With Manchester United undefeated in six scuffles across all competitions now, and a morale-boosting midweek result versus Fenerbahce in which Jesse Lingard starred and scored a stunner, Mourinho’s first return to Chelsea as United coach should be competitive.

The Blues have been in bad form for the big games, failing to take points off title rivals, while the Red Devils held Liverpool away last time out.

Four of the last six encounters between these two titans have ended evenly, including the last at Stamford Bridge – when Lingard scored Man Utd’s only goal.

So, with all that in mind, back a Lingard goal and the game to end in a draw at a generous 18/1.
