We’ve had yet another superb weekend of sporting action, producing memorable moments and stunning pictures.

Therefore, Coral experts have got their heads together and picked out the best images from October 1-2 for our weekend in pictures:

Golf

Europe headed into the final day of action down 9 1/2 to 6 1/2 and looked for a Medinah style comeback, when they led seven of 12 singles matches on Sunday. However, the tide was turned and the USA lifted their first title in four attempts.

Happiness at Hazeltine National

After avoiding another miraculous European comeback, Team USA held strong and celebrated in style - apart from Rickie Fowler. USA captain Davis Love III, was in charge four years ago at Medinah when Europe won despite being 10-4 down heading into the final day - making this win particularly sweet.

Star spangled support lives up to billing

Centre of much of the attention heading into the competition after comments made by Danny Willett's brother, the USA fans remained vocal throughout.

Football

This weekend’s Premier league action produced some fantastic moments before the international break begins, from last minute winners to shock equalisers, the top-flight had it all.

Rampant Reds sink Swansea

Liverpool's James Milner netted yet another penalty for the Reds as they registered their fourth consecutive league win. Jurgen Klopp's men now sit fourth, just two points off top spot.

Alli ousts Pep’s perfect Sky Blues

Totteham's Dele Alli hit home the goal that inflicted Pep Guardiola's first defeat as Manchester City boss. Spurs ran riot and are now just a point behind the leaders City.

Potters pounce on wasteful Red Devils

Wales' Euro 2016 star Joe Allen has settled into Stoke City life well and pounced on a defensive mix up to equalise for the Potters. However, this is just Mark Hughes' third point this term and still haven't triumphed over Manchester United at Old Trafford since 1976.

Gunners grasp last gasp win

After a tough 90 minutes, proceedings seemed to be heading for a draw. However, Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny and his arm had other ideas as he handled in a last minute winner, to collect three points over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Boxing

Welshman Nathan Cleverly became a world champion for the second time in his career as he overcame Juergen Braehmer in Germany to clinch the WBA light-heavyweight title, with the home fighter having failed to carry on into the seventh round due to an elbow injury.

Horse racing

Found spearheads an incredible Arc 1-2-3 for O’Brien

Aidan O'Brien produced one of the greatest training feats ever when saddling the first three home in the Group 1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly. Found, so often the bridesmaid, took up the running two from home before shooting clear in the hands of Ryan Moore to readily beat Highland Reel by 1 3/4 lengths, with Order Of St George staying on well to capture third. O'Brien hailed the clean sweep as probably his finest moment as a trainer and it was an unbelievable achievement in one of the most competitive contests in Europe which has earned him a deserved place in the record books.

Limato awesome in Prix de la Foret

Limato put in a stunning performance when cruising to a three length success in the Group 1 Qatar Prix de la Foret at Chantilly. Henry Candy's charge, who had finished runner-up in the race 12 months ago, travelled strongly throughout on the heels of the leaders under a confident Harry Bentley before taking up the running two from home and drawing clear to win easing down. Candy is now assessing Breeders' Cup options for his stable star, with preference at this stage being a crack at the big Mile race rather than the Sprint.

Marsha proves the master in Prix de l’Abbaye

Marsha claimed Group 1 glory for trainer Sir Mark Prescott with a gusty success in the Qatar Prix de l'Abbaye at Chantilly. The three-year-old filly, who was twice a winner at Listed level earlier in the year, took her form to a new level when coming from off the pace under a power packed ride from Luke Morris to collar Mecca's Angel inside the final furlong and hold off the late challenge of Washington DC to score by a diminishing 3/4 of a length.
