Five Malaysia Grand Prix tips

The Formula 1 season is hotting up as the race for the Driver’s Championship intensifies, and next up is a testing Sepang International Circuit for the Malaysia Grand Prix on Sunday morning.

All the talk so far this season has involved Mercedes duo Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, with the former set to enter proceedings in Sepang atop the standings, ahead of his teammate and rival by just eight points.

The German has prevailed in the last three races and will look to continue that impressive by making it four in a row at the expense of Hamilton. So, ahead of the F1 action, Coral outline five Malaysia Grand Prix tips for the next circuit…

Rosberg to make it four on the bounce

Rosberg has won the last three successive circuits, so back him to win again as part of Coral's five Malaysian Grand Prix tips for Sunday.

After a temporary blip before the previous summer break, Rosberg has bounced back to claim an impressive three circuit wins in a row, having triumphed at all of Singapore, Italy and Belgium.

The German steerer holds the most GP wins of anyone to never claim a world title but he will look to prevail in Malaysia and edge closer towards his maiden Championship crown. Rosberg is 11/8 to secure a fourth consecutive success at a track he finished third on last season.

Vettel to land podium place

Vettel has enjoyed huge success at this track in recent seasons.

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel is still seeking his first win of the season, though he has earned a podium position on six occasions and is 6/5 to do so again on Malaysian soil, at a track he has flourished on in recent campaigns.

The German boasts the joint most ever victories in this Grand Prix, having won four times including most recently last season, and has finished on the podium at least for the previous three successive years.

Ricciardo to record fastest lap again

Ricciardo produced a great display last time out in Singapore, claiming the fastest lap.

Last time out in Singapore, Red Bull’s Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo produced a memorable performance to capture second place and also storm to the fastest lap time at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

The in-form Aussie has showed plenty of promise this season and will enter his latest appearance at a tasty 15/2 to once again secure the quickest lap time in Malaysia.

Perez to finish in top six places

Perez was on the verge of a top six finish in his previous outings.

Perez was on the verge of a top six finish in his previous outings.

Mexican steerer Sergio Perez has enjoyed some success on this circuit before, rallying to the swiftest lap back in the 2013 season and, after narrowly failing to add to his top six finish from Belgium in his last two races, he is 11/8 to do end up in the first half a dozen positions here.

The Force India driver missed out in both Singapore and Italy, finishing eighth on both occasions, but he will be confident of earning a top six place in his latest circuit outing.

Kvyat to be first retired driver

Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat has endured plenty of ups and downs this campaign.

Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat has endured plenty of ups and downs this campaign.

Daniil Kvyat endured an early retirement in his outing in Italy, having been forced out of proceedings after just 16 laps, while he also ended his race prematurely in Austria (after two laps), Europe (six), Monaco (18) and Australia (during first lap).

So it’s definitely worth backing the Russian to be the first retirement of the Malaysian GP at a great price of 12/1, after his many swift finishes already this season.
