Limato cut for Breeders’ Cup Mile

Coral has cut Limato to 11-4 (from 5-1) second favourite for next month’s Breeders’ Cup Mile, after connections said today they were edging towards the longer race, rather than the Turf Sprint option, at Santa Anita. As a result, Tepin is eased to 2-1 (from 11-8) at the head of the betting, with Alice Springs now 7-2 third favourite.
“Although clearly a superstar, Tepin’s defeat at Keeneland earlier this month proved she wasn’t invincible, and if Limato does take his chance against her over a mile, our odds suggest Henry Candy’s charge would give the favourite plenty to think about,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
