Voltigeur winner Idaho now odds-on for Leger glory

| 05.09.2016

The Great Voltigeur winner Idaho heads Coral’s betting for Saturday’s Ladbrokes St Leger at 4-5, following the latest entry stage for the Doncaster Classic.  The well-backed Muntahaa is next in the betting at 5-1, ahead of Housesofparliament and Red Verdon, both 8-1.

“Idaho has been a firm favourite for the season’s final Classic since his York success last month, and looks set to be sent off odds-on on Saturday, while Muntahaa has emerged as the clear each-way alternative to the market leader, having halved in price to 5-1 in the last 24 hours,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

Switching codes, Dan Skelton is 33-1 (from 66-1) for the National Hunt trainers’ championship, with his mentor Paul Nicholls the 8-11 favourite to retain his crown.

“No lesser judge than Paul Nicholls has tipped Dan Skelton to have a big season, and punters have followed the champion trainer’s lead, forcing us to halve the latter’s odds to 33-1,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
