Five US Open 2016 day 4 tips

Andy Murray is once again in action at Flushing Meadows, with Great Britain’s top tennis pro and ATP world number two taking on Spanish player Marcel Granollers in the men’s singles second round.

Fellow top seeds Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori are joined by dangerous wildcard entrant Juan Martin del Potro. In the women’s singles draw, meanwhile, both Williams sisters are scheduled to be on court at their home Grand Slam and Simona Halep joins them.

Read on to find out who Coral have picked for our five US Open 2016 day 4 tips…

Murray first set betting: To win 6-4

So straight away to reigning Wimbledon and Olympic champion Murray. In all three of his previous hard court encounters with Granollers, the Briton has taken the opener 6-4.

Siding with Murray in the first set betting and for that precise scoreline to be recorded again is available at fantastic 4/1 odds. Juan Monaco pushed Granollers hard in his initial US Open assignment, with the 30-year-old Spaniard needing to win back-to-back tiebreaks.

Murray is a far stronger opponent than the Argentine, and Granollers is unlikely to up his game sufficiently to stop a strong start from the Scot.

Incredible eightfold acca for men’s singles favourites

Aforementioned trio Del Potro (1/3), Nishikori (1/20) and Wawrinka (1/33) form three legs of an awesome eightfold acca of men’s singles favourites, who are all individually odds-on to win against little known or less opposition.

Joining them are Eastern European duo Grigor Dimitrov (2/7) and Viktor Troicki (8/11), Austria’s rising star Dominic Thiem (1/7), maverick Australian Nick Kyrgios (1/16) and David Ferrer (2/5).

There’s more than an a fivefold return at current combined odds (almost 9/2*) for this incredible accumulator, with a £2 stake giving £8.90 in winnings.

Halep to beat Safarova in three sets

Romania’s finest Halep is a handy player on the WTA tour and seeded fifth for the US Open, but she’s struggled when previously clashing with Czech opponent Lucie Safarova.

Two of their last three meetings have gone the distance with Halep emerging victorious, and that could well be on the cards again.

Halep is an awesome 11/4 price to record a 2-1 victory over Safarova, as she managed at the prestigious Indian Wells tournament on American soil two years ago.

Suarez Navarro beats Jankovic in straight sets

You can double your money if Spain’s 11th seed Carla Suarez Navarro defeats Jelena Jankovic of Serbia without dropping a set.

The even-money price on a 2-0 Suarez Navarro victory comes despite Jankovic holding an overall 5-3 head-to-head advantage in the fixture.

Suarez Navarro, who didn’t even lose a game in her US Open first round match, has also won two of the last three meetings on hard surface.

Sensational sixfold acca for women’s singles favourites

Venus (1/3) and Serena Williams (1/33) are headline acts among the ladies, so we’ve selected them in a sixfold acca. They’re joined by fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska (1/16), who should be too strong for Great Britain’s Naomi Broady.

Also included in this accumulator are Swiss star Timea Bacsinszky (3/10) and 2011 US Open winner Sam Stosur (1/13), with all these women firm favourites to progress.

Like the men’s acca above, this one will qualify for Coral’s insurance if one leg lets you down. At current combined odds (around 11/4), a £4 stake returns £15.52 if all these women win.
