Southgate cut to 6-4 to be next permanent England manager

Gareth Southgate has been cut into 6-4 (from 9-4) by leading bookmaker Coral to be the next permanent England manager after he was put in charge of the national team for the next four games. Steve Bruce, who was in contention for the job earlier this summer, is second best in the betting at 9-4, Glen Hoddle can be backed at 5-1 for a return to the role, while Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe is 6-1 to get the job.
“The early support in the betting is behind Gareth Southgate as punters think he has the opportunity to the earn the job on a permanent basis if successful in England’s next four games,” said Coral’s John Hill.
