Weekend in pictures: Rampant Red devils, Arsenal oust Blues and Crolla loses to Linares

We’ve had yet another superb weekend of sporting action, producing memorable moments and stunning pictures.
Coral experts have got their heads together and picked out the best images from September 24-25 for our weekend in pictures:
Football
The Premier League returned for matchweek six and it was Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United that kicked off the weekend in style, with a 4-1 rout over Premier League champions Leicester City, while Arsenal followed up by snapping Chelsea’s streak and Pep Guardiola reached a perfect 10 results.
Pogba completes United first-half hammering

Paul Pogba completed Man Utd’s scoring in a 4-1 win over Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes, earning himself the Man of the Match award and provided the star with a chance to pull out his famous dab celebration. Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney was dropped to the bench.
Gunners banish Blues

Arsenal’s Theo Walcott scored his side’s second on their way to a 3-0 triumph over Chelsea. This snapped the Stamford Bridge outfit’s nine league game unbeaten run in this fixture.
Pep’s perfect 10

Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero bagged a brace on his return to the side, helping Guardiola’s Sky Blues to a 10th straight win in all competitions. The Etihad outfit currently sit four points ahead of second placed Tottenham.
Tigers mauled by rampant Reds

All smiles at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool thrashed Hull City 5-1. The Reds have now won four on the bounce in all competitions.
Saints add to West Ham woes

Southampton added to West Ham United’s new stadium blues with yet another home loss. Saints won 3-0 and have now collected maximum points from four consecutive games, while Slaven Bilic’s Hammers have already lost three home fixtures at the Olympic Stadium.
Boxing: Crolla loses lightweight belt to Linares in breathtaking bout

Venezuelan lightweight Jorge Linares unified the division in an incredible fight against Anthony Crolla at the Manchester Arena. The bout went down to points, with every judge siding with the sharp punching South American. A rematch is already in the works.

Brave Anna causes upset in Cheveley Park Stakes

Brave Anna sprang a 25/1 surprise when beating stable companion Roly Poly by a short-head in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket. Red-hot favourite Lady Aurelia looked the most likely winner when blazing the trail in a clear lead, but weakened badly inside the final furlong leaving the Aidan O’Brien trained duo to fight out the finish.
The Last Lion roars to success in Middle Park Stakes

The Last Lion showed tremendous guts to make all and fend off the challenge of Blue Point in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket. This Mark Johnston trained colt, who was having his 10th start of the season, found plenty when challenged inside the final furlong to beat the heavily punted 11/10 favourite by 3/4 of a length.
Spark Plug electric in Cambridgeshire

Spark Plug showed a tremendous turn of foot to come from off the pace and land the ultra-competitive Cambridgeshire Handicap at Newmarket by 2 1/4 lengths. Brian Meehan’s charge, who was sent off a well-backed 12/1 shot, overcame trouble in-running to win the 31-runner contest in emphatic fashion and record his first success in over a year.
