Coral’s rumour reel

The transfer window may be closed for now but, while the Premier League season continues after a recent dramatic matchweek five, top-flight clubs are still looking ahead and planning future deals for the January window.

Atletico’s Griezmann to Arsenal?

One such club are Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger’s side reportedly leading the top tier chase for Atletico Madrid and France international marksman Antoine Griezmann, following his impressive showings at Euro 2016 which led him to claiming the Golden Boot.

With Griezmann to Arsenal linked in today’s back pages, Gunners fans will once again be excited at the prospect of seeing such a clinical attacker potentially arrive at the Emirates, if the club are willing to fork out the fee.

The 25-year-old’s price tag has undoubtedly rocketed after those impressive outings on home soil this past summer, with La Liga forward currently rated at a mammoth £80m by his current employers.

Griezmann also fuelled speculation regarding his future recently, when parting company with agents Grupo Santos and stating he will be representing himself, along with his father Alain and trusted aid Eric Olhats.

Man Utd hone in on Oxford capture

West Ham United had hoped they could secure the long-term future of promising talent Reece Oxford after retaining his services during the summer, amid heavy interest from Manchester United, but they may face another battle to keep him in January.

The Red Devils are reportedly ready to swoop for the teenager in the winter window, with his current contract at the Hammers expiring at the end of this current campaign.

Oxford, still just 17 years of age, is also believed to be a target of current Premier League leaders Manchester City and Arsenal, though Man Utd are pushing hardest to capture the highly-rated Londoner.

The England Under-20 capped defensive midfielder burst onto the scene last season with an impressive display against the Gunners, in which he nullified the threat of Mezut Ozil and has since become hot English property.

Toon targeting Judge signing

In the Championship, automatic promotion favourites Newcastle United are aiming to land Brentford and Republic of Ireland midfielder Alan Judge, with such a switch set to hand his former employers Blackburn Rovers a £2m sell-on bonus.

The 27-year-old was sold for a mere £300k to current club Brentford, but the Toon are willing to pay a substantial £10m for his services when he is fully fit and recovered from a broken leg sustained last campaign.

Rovers will earn 20 per cent of the fee if the deal goes through on Tyneside, due to a windfall from a sell-on clause in Judge’s transfer to Brentford two years ago.
