Coral’s rumour reel

The summer transfer window may be closed, but it hasn’t stopped Premier League clubs continuing their scouting and looking ahead to January for potential recruitment for their respective squads.

With a long campaign ahead, the likes of Everton and Manchester United are reportedly set to up their interest in a new winter acquisition, while Burnley also feature in Coral’s latest rumour reel.

Everton and Man Utd want Kastanos

Ronald Koeman’s Toffees are set to do battle with Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils over the potential signing of Juventus and Cyprus international wonderkid Grigoris Kastanos, according to reports.

Both clubs are looking to strengthen their midfield and see 18-year-old Kastanos as a future star, with the teenager having risen to prominence during his time with the Italian champions in Serie A.

The highly-rated Cypriot is due to be offered a new contract with the Old Lady in the coming months, though Everton and Man Utd want Kastanos in January and are prepared to fork over a substantial £17m for his services.

Kastanos arrived in Turin in 2014 and netted twice against Manchester City in their UEFA Youth League clash, while the attacking midfielder also has two caps for his country.

Blues back in for De Vrij

Chelsea pulled off the biggest surprise capture of the summer window when re-signing Brazil international centre back David Luiz from French champions PSG, but it seems Antonio Conte is still seeking further defensive acquisitions.

The Italian boss is reportedly still keen on luring Netherlands defender Stefan de Vrij from Lazio, with the Blues having failed with a bid for the 24-year-old’s services during the summer window.

De Vrij was the subject of a massive £34m offer from the Londoners previously, with the Blues instead landing defensive duo Luiz and Marcos Alonso, but Chelsea are refusing to give up on their pursuit of the Dutchman.

Burnley interested in Sessegnon

Burnley are also hoping to land a new signing in the upcoming market and are interested in former West Bromwich Albion wideman Stephane Sessegnon.

Benin international attacker Sessegnon is currently a free agent following his release from The Hawthorns at the end of last season, but the Clarets are negotiating a deal to take him to Turf Moor for the remainder of this term.

Sessegnon is now 32 years of age and, having spent three years in the West Midlands after two seasons with Sunderland on Wearside, he could be set for a Premier League lifeline from Sean Dyche’s Burnley outfit.
