Everything points to Blue in Middle Park Stakes
Blue Point can further enhance his Classic claims with victory in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes on the final day of Newmarket’s Cambridgeshire meeting (15.30).
The Charlie Appleby trained colt has won three of his four starts and is currently 8/1 with Coral for next year’s 2000 Guineas following an impressive success in the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes at York.
After travelling strongly on the heels of the leaders under a confident William Buick, the two-year-old was produced to take up the running a furlong from home before quickening clear to beat Mokarris by three lengths.

Blue Point is highly fancied to land the Middle Park Stakes on the final day of Newmarket’s Cambridgeshire meeting.
Potent turn of foot
It was a most taking performance and the turn of foot shown by Blue Point to quickly put the race to bed marked him out as a very exciting prospect.
The son of Shamardal has nothing to fear from the re-opposing runner-up, or The Last Lion and Mubtasim who finished third and eighth respectively.
With the prospect of more to come, and Buick once again in the saddle, Blue Point can take this en route to better things.
Mehmas sure to give it his best shot
Mehmas has a rock solid profile and looks sure to make his presence felt.

Mehmas will be looking to capitalise if Blue Point fails to deliver.
The Al Shaqab owned son of Acclamation has won four of his seven starts, finishing runner-up on the three other occasions.
In the last of those success, Mehmas beat Blue Point in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood.
The Richard Hannon trained colt got up close home to score by a neck and showed his battle-hardened experience to beat a rival that was still green and learning the job.
Mehmas has since run very well to finish runner-up to the very highly regarded Churchill in a Group 1 at the Curragh over a 7f trip which stretched his stamina and the drop back down to 6f is sure to suit.
