Europa League group stage tips for September 15th

The 2016/17 Europa League group stage kicks off this week, so Coral pick out five top tips to take for the opening day of fixtures, featuring Premier League representatives Manchester United and Southampton.

Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils will face a tough trip to Feyenoord, while Claude Puel’s Saints welcome Czech Republic outfit Sparta Prague among many other tasty European fixtures.

So, ahead of the action, Coral outline five Europa League group stage tips for September 15th that punters should take during the Thursday night tussles across the continent…

Rashford to net anytime against Feyenoord

After coming on and making a difference for Man Utd in the eventual derby defeat to bitter rivals Manchester City, Marcus Rashford looks set to start on Dutch soil, with Mourinho having admitted he has earned a place in his line-up.

The young frontman is therefore evens to get on the scoresheet anytime at the De Kuip in Rotterdam, having also dispatched a late 90th-minute winner over Hull City in the recent Premier League encounter. Rashford looks to be among the best bets here as hit a hat-trick on his England Under-21 debut too and is set to feature heavily in this European competition.

Southampton to sink Sparta Prague to nil

The Saints have endured a difficult start to the new top-flight campaign, having failed to win any of their opening four outings, including two defeats and as many draws so far.

Although, Puel’s men will see Europe as the chance to shine and perform without the pressure of domestic points up for grabs. Southampton will enter at 8/5 to secure a home triumph over their Czech Republic opponents without conceding at St Mary’s.

Both AZ and Dundalk score and either win

Having become the first Irish side ever to reach the Champions League play-offs, Dundalk ultimately had to settle for a spot in the Europa League after losing out to Legia Warsaw.

The county Louth outfit will hope to enjoy a strong group stage campaign but face a tough test in their opener against AZ Alkmaar, and odds of 7/4 can be had on either team winning and both getting on the scoresheet.

Over 3.5 goals in Villarreal and Zurich clash

Spanish side Villarreal have come up against FC Zurich before, with the pair having collided during the 2014/15 and both clashes ended with five goals scored.

With recent history suggesting another host of goals at the Estadio El Madrigal, punters can back there to be over 3.5 strikes during proceedings on Spanish soil at 6/4.

Inter Milan to net three or more strikes

Serie A side Inter Milan earned their maiden win of the season last time out, with main marksman Mauro Icardi firing in a deadly double, and on the back of impressive form they will aim to secure another comfortable success.

The Nerazzurri are therefore 13/10 to dispatch three or more goals during their opening match-up with Israeli side Hapoel Beer-Sheva at the San Siro.
