Europe are 15-8 with leading bookmaker Coral to win the 41st Ryder Cup in Minnesota this week in their bid for a fourth consecutive victory in the competition., while hosts USA are the 4-7 favourites to end their miserable recent run.

Rory McIlroy tops the betting at 10-3 to be the top European point scorer, Justin Rose is 11-2 to pick up the most points in team Europe, while it is Dustin Johnson who is the 10-3 favourite to be the leading American point scorer.

“Despite being the underdogs in the betting ahead of the 41st Ryder Cup, patriotic punters have been keen to back Europe to continue their excellent recent record in this event,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson finished first and second respectively in the FedEx Cup standings and they are the most popular selections in our top point scorer markets so we’ll be hoping one of those two has a quiet week,” added Hill.
