Unnoticed can collect for in-form Luca

Trainer Luca Cumani has a tremendous record with his runners at Brighton and Unnoticed can further enhance it with victory in the 7f handicap on today’s card at the seaside venue (16.00).

The in-form Newmarket handler has a strike rate of 50 per cent at the track in the past 12 months and an overall one of 22 per cent.

In Unnoticed he has a gelding who has caught the eye on more than one occasion and comes into the race on the back of two solid efforts.

Luca Cumani's fantastic record at Brighton suggests that his horse Unnoticed can win the 16:00.

After staying on strongly to be beaten just 3/4 of a length by Chetan over 6f at Lingfield, the four-year-old shaped better than the bare result suggests when fourth over the same trip in a class 5 contest at Chelmsford.

Unnoticed was given far too much to do in the latter before keeping on nicely to be nearest at the finish.

The step back up to 7f looks sure to suit and Unnoticed will also appreciate the drop back down into class 6 company.

Funny Oyster to have the last laugh

In the 1m handicap (15.30), Funny Oyster looks decent value to open her account.

The George Baker trained filly is yet to win in 11 starts but has posted a number of solid efforts to make the frame.

They include a second on nine to Medburn Dream in a class 5 contest at Windsor on soft ground off a mark of 56 where she kept on well to be beaten two lengths.

George Baker's Funny Oyster loo set to finally open her account, and is among our Brighton best bets.

The winner, from whom the selection was receiving 7lb, has gone on to win three times since to be rated 86 and the third and fourth home have also gone on to taste success.

That gives the form a rock solid look in the context of this lower grade class 6 contest and suggests that Funny Oyster’s current mark of 58 is very exploitable.

Another plus is that the three-year-old also now gets the services in the saddle Robert Winston for the first time and that looks significant as he has a 25 per cent strike rate when teaming up with the yard in the past 12 months.
