Sergio Aguero was chosen by around 50 per cent of Premier League fantasy football players, but now, after receiving a three-match ban for an elbow on West Ham United’s Winston Reid, managers find themselves in a predicament.

However, don’t fear, Coral have picked out their top Aguero Premier League fantasy football replacements…

Diego Costa (£9.7m)

At the fantasy price of £9.7m and considering his lethal scoring record, Chelsea’s Costa looks a top replacement.

The Brazilian-born Spain international has scored against Swansea more than any other opponent, with five goals in three appearances against the Welsh outfit and is 4/1 with Coral to net first.

Costa brings fantastic form into the fixture, bagging a brace for Spain during the international break and has a fine run of performances in the league. Antonio Conte’s favoured marksman has also netted or assisted in each of his last five league outings.

Combine this with the rejuvenated Eden Hazard ready to provide quality service, expect Costa to rack up the fantasy points and he is a great candidate to be your side’s captain.

Wilfried Bony (£7.3m)

Ivory Coast striker Bony completed his season long loan move to Stoke City on the final day of the transfer window, and could be in for a great debut if he continues his scoring form against Tottenham.

Bony has scored in 50 per cent of his encounters with Spurs and will be keen to make an impression on his Potters debut. His goals against Mauricio Pochettino’s men have come at home, boding well for the Staffordshire side welcoming Tottenham.

The former Swansea man won’t be short of quality service too, with creative players such as Bojan Krkic and Marko Arnautovic buzzing around the top marksman.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (£11.8m)

The stage is set for Ibrahimovic to haunt Pep Guardiola in the Manchester derby. Describing their relationship as frosty would be an understatement, after the pair fell out at Barcelona.

Sweden’s all-time leading scorer has made a superb start to his life at Old Trafford, finding the net four times in as many competitive matches for Jose Mourinho’s revitalised Manchester United.

Ibrahimovic scored 50 goals in all competitions for PSG last term on their way to a fourth consecutive title, and shows no signs of slowing down at 34 years old.

Zlatan is a scorer of big goals in important moments, and there’s no better occasion to endear yourself to the already adoring fans that sticking one past the Sky Blues – he is an excellent 11/2 to net first against City.

Romelu Lukaku (£9.0m)

Lukaku is coming off a superb international break with new Belgium boss and former Everton manager, Roberto Martinez.

The Belgian big man bagged a brace against Cyprus in a World Cup qualifier and has scored four in his eight encounters with Sunderland.

David Moyes’ Black Cats are leaking goals and have conceded in each of their Premier League games this term, making Lukaku likely to notch.

Olivier Giroud (£9.0m)

Our final of five Aguero Premier League fantasy football replacements is France international Giroud.

With Alexis Sanchez likely to be rested ahead of Arsenal’s meeting with PSG in the Champions league mid-week, the goalscoring responsibility will fall to Frenchman Giroud.

The hitman netted 24 last term, 10 of which were scored in the league before the turn of the year. Giroud will be keen to start this campaign well and, with a record of three in seven appearances against Southampton, expect a strong showing with the Gunners 4/7 to triumph.
