Best goals across the globe from August 12-14
Coral present weekend worldies – the place for punters to peruse the most incredible, acrobatic or technically gifted goals from across the globe.
We’ve compiled the cream of the crop from the past couple of days, featuring sublime strikes from August 12th-14th, just for your viewing pleasure.
With the Premier League’s return to action, plus several pre-season glamour games, there was plenty to pick from as elite teams took to the turf. Some of the stars on show did not disappoint, so here’s our highlight reel of the weekend’s most spectacular striking efforts thus far. Enjoy!
Jesus Corona v Rio Ave
We begin proceedings with a real peach! On Friday evening, Portuguese giants Porto overcame Rio Ave in the Primeira Liga – in part thanks to this acrobatic effort by Mexico menace Corona.
Just before half-time, the winger profited from poor defending, latching onto a knock-down and volleying home with pinpoint precision. Check it out below.

Adama Diomande v Leicester City
This opener for Hull City deserves inclusion purely for comedic value, nevermind the awesome athleticism required to beat Peter Schmeichel for this overhead goal.
There was a real question over who to credit this to, as both Diomade and Abel Hernandez got up to connect with the ball, seemingly providing their own tribute to Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow’s Bronze medal Olympic achievement, with a wonderfully synchronised moment. Give them Gold!
Not bad for the first Premier League goal of the season. Keep ’em coming.
What a finish. Or was it finishES? Is it possible to have two goal scorers? #PL #HulLei pic.twitter.com/u6dw9zDi2y

Nicolas Gaitan v NPFL All-Stars
New signing Gaitan made a jaw-dropping start to life as an Atletico Madrid player, showing fans just what he is capable of as the Spanish capital club continued their La Liga warm-up against Nigeria Professional Football All Stars.
Hear the thump of the ball below as the Argentine attacker’s blistering palm-stinger from just inside the area beat Ikechukwu Ezenwa with ease. Almost a net-breaker!

Antonio Candreva v Celtic
Candreva’s awesome chipped effort for Inter Milan is worth several viewings, as the Italian giants sank Celtic 2-0 in the International Champions Cup.
The former Lazio schemer’s late strike gave boss Frank de Boer a dream Nerazzurri bow, while handing Brendan Rogers another Bhoys nightmare.
See below as crafty wingman Candreva collects a through ball and lobs Leo Fasan. Cold as ice.

Paulo Dybala v Espanyol
Juventus may only have been able to draw 2-2 with Spanish side Espanyol, but fans of the Italian champions had plenty to cheer thanks to Dybala’s superb solo strike.
While all the pre-match attention may have been on Gonzalo Higuain’s fitness, or lack thereof, it was just another day at the office for Dybala, who stole the show with his shimmy into the area before unleashing an emphatic effort into the top corner.

Federico Bernardeschi v Valencia
Fiorentina may have eventually succumbed to La Liga’s Valencia in their pre-season scuffle – but youngster Bernardeschi certainly gave Viola something to smile about with his cracking curler.
Perhaps the pick of the bunch, watch how, just six minutes into the match, superb team play sees the Italian bring down the ball just outside the area, take a touch and lash it home. Perfetto!

Shkelzen Gashi v LA Galaxy
Former Basel forward Gashi has sure settled in to the MLS if this clip is anything to go by. The Albania attacker helped new club Colorado Rapids to a draw with LA Galaxy thanks to this vicious long-range stunner.

Speaking of special set-pieces, Coutinho got one back brilliantly for Liverpool against the Gunners, lifting his lethally dipping free-kick over Arsenal’s wall and past Petr Cech.
