Five US Open 2016 day 3 tips
We’re now into the second stage of the US Open singles men’s and women’s sections, and already eight seeds exited after the first day – including Richard Gasquet at the hands of Britain’s Kyle Edmund in straight sets.
The likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Milos Raonic, Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza and Johanna Konta all made it through, though.
Read on to found out who Coral have picked for our five US Open 2016 day 3 tips…
Djokovic to beat Vesely in five sets

Defending men’s US Open champion Djokovic advanced to round two, but only just, after losing the second set against Jerzy Janowicz and showing signs that his wrist is still not 100 per cent after taking injury time out.
He may find it even more difficult in his next match-up with rising Czech star Jiri Vesely, who is one of the very few to claim a winning record over the Serb.
Vesely shocked Djokovic in their only ever meeting at the Monte Carlo Masters earlier this year and, although he unlikely to triumph again, he can certainly take him the distance. Back the ATP world number one therefore at 7/1 to win 3-2.
Konta to be leading 3-1 after four games

Britain’s leading female player is now on the cusp of breaking into the WTA top 10, and will be determined to do so by having a decent tournament here.
After defeating home hope and mixed doubles Olympic Gold medallist Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the first round 2-0, she’s been handed another relatively straightforward tie against world number 71 Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria.
The duo have never met, but Konta is 7/4 to get off to a flying start and be 3-1 up after four games in the opening set.
Edmund to beat Escobedo 3-1

Another Brit made a strong start on day one, this time in the men’s section as Edmund caused the shock of the round to knock out 2013 semi-finalist Gasquet in style 6-2 6-2 6-3.
The Yorkshireman next faces American wildcard Ernesto Escobedo, who he beat in their only past tussle last year in a Challenger event.
Edmund dropped a set in that clash, so is 11/4 to come through 3-1 this time.
Bencic to edge Petkovic 2-1

Swiss teenager Belinda Bencic has been touted by many to be a multiple Grand Slam champion in future, and has already reached the quarters here in 2014 aged just 17.
It took her three sets to get past USA’s Samantha Crawford in the first round this year, and is now up against Andrea Petkovic, who she beat this year.
Bencic is 3/1 to claim another 2-1 victory.
Cuevas to defeat Almagro in straight sets

Pablo Cuevas takes on Nicolas Almagro on day three too, and the Uruguayan has beaten the Spaniard in all four of their previous duels, including three times in 2015.
