Gnanduillet to net first in Checkatrade Trophy

Armand Gnanduillet hit ten in the league last year and is set to break his record tally this year, leading Blackpool’s frontline after recently hitting form in his previous two outings.

The Ivory Coast marksman netted 10 last term and is a fantastic 5/1 to find the back of the net first in the Tangerines’ Checkatrade Trophy (formerly Johnstone Paint) clash with Cheltenham Town.

In each of the club’s last four encounters, the Seasiders have managed to put at least two past the spluttering Robins and look on track to emulate the feat tonight – with Gnanduillet unbeaten in his last three match ups with Cheltenham.

Blackpool opened their new season in League Two with a promising 2-0 win over Exeter City on home ground, and will hope to push for promotion this term under Gary Bowyer.

Omens bode well for Bowyer’s boys

The Tangerines have only been beaten once in the history of the fixture, have won the last two fixtures and are undefeated at home against Cheltenham.

In their first four games, the Robins averaged a meagre goal-a-game with their strikers struggling, paving the way for sharpshooter Gnanduillet to break the deadlock tonight.

Cheltenham have struggled on the defensive end of the pitch and possess the 11th worst record in the league when it comes to keeping goals out.

Gary Johnson’s outfit aren’t particularly stellar when converting either, with all of their strikers yet to find the net this campaign.

With the Robins recording just one clean sheet this term and Gnanduillet hitting form, expect the Ivorian to net first.
