Ebor Festival: Queen’s Trust is Yorkshire Oaks value

Queen’s Trust can reign supreme in Yorkshire Oaks
Trainer Sir Michael Stoute has a tremendous record in the Yorkshire Oaks and Queen’s Trust looks decent value to provide him with another winner of the Group 1 contest on day two of York’s Ebor Festival (15:40).
The Newmarket handler has won the 1m 4f contest nine times, and in Queen’s Trust has a lightly-raced filly with a progressive profile.
After shaping with plenty of promise on return to action when a fast finishing fourth in a Listed contest at Newbury, the three-year-old ran a cracker when fourth to Even Song in the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Queen’s Trust was slowly away in the latter and, after being held-up well off the pace, stayed on strongly to be nearest at the finish when beaten 2 3/4 lengths.
Terrific run in Nassau Stakes
It was an excellent effort, given how the race panned out, and Queen’s Trust backed it up with a fine second to Minding in last month’s Group 1 Nassau Stakes over 1m 2f at Goodwood.
The daughter of Dansili gave the dual Classic winner plenty to think about, going down fighting by 1 1/4 lengths.
It was a career-best effort, which suggested there was more to come, and the step back up to 1m 4f looks sure to suit.
Found sets the standard
Found is one of three runners in the race for trainer Aidan O’Brien, and sets the standard as far as form is concerned.
This four-year-old is a classy and consistent sort who rounded off last season with a game victory over the brilliant Golden Horn in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keeneland.
Found has won just one of her five starts this season, but has posted a number of solid efforts in defeat, and comes into the race on the back of a fine neck second in the Group 1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The daughter of Galileo looks sure to give it her best shot once again, yet giving away 10lb to some progressive three-year-olds will be no easy task.
Seventh Heaven a major player
One of those is Found’s stablemate Seventh Heaven, who showed her running in the Investec Oaks at Epsom to be all wrong when running out the impressive winner of the Irish equivalent at The Curragh when last seen in action.
She came from off the pace to take up the running a furlong from home before forging clear to beat Architecture by 2 3/4 lengths.
It was a most taking display and Seventh Heaven has nothing to fear from the re-opposing Harlequeen, Turret Rocks and Even Song, who all finished in behind.
The three-year-old also still looks far from the finished article and, although not considered to be the stable number one, could well turn out to be so. Seventh Heaven thus commands the utmost respect.
