Djokovic set betting odds of 10/3 to win 3-1
Novak Djokovic begins his US Open men’s singles title defence on the first day of this year’s event in the main Arthur Ashe Stadium at Flushing Meadows in the evening session.
His first round opponent is giant big-serving Pole Jerzy Janowicz, and it is from this match that Coral have picked out our latest bet of the day, with odds of 10/3 for the Serb to win 3-1.
Read on to find out why you should take this tempting price…
Djokovic is still the ATP world number one by a sizeable margin, and has already claimed the Australian and French Open titles this year – the latter of which he needed to complete the Career Grand Slam set.
On top of that, he also won the Canadian Open, or Rogers Cup, in July, where he beat the likes of Tomas Berdych, Gael Monfils and Kei Nishikori along the way.
Janowicz, on the other hand, is way down the rankings at 228 after an injury-hit past year or so, though qualified for the main draw through his protected ranking.
Janowicz to trouble Djokovic
That means that the 6ft 8in 25-year-old has already done enough in his career to date to merit his place in the draw, having reached the Wimbledon semis before in 2013.
The Polish star is unlikely to have a chance against 12-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic, but the Serb has had troubles of his own recently.
Djokovic has made early exits this summer at major tournaments such as Wimbledon and the Olympics, which he has explained is down to off-the-court issues as well as a wrist injury.
With that in mind, Janowicz can cause problems for the Serbian and use his powerful serve to win a set – though go on to lose in four sets.
So, what are you waiting for punters? Take these Djokovic set betting odds of 10/3 for him to win 3-1 for a great chance to reap rewards!
