Bookies braced for weekend heatwave as temperatures soar

| 05.08.2016

It looks like a mini-heatwave could return to Britain this weekend, with leading bookmaker Coral going odds-on at 5-6 that temperatures soar to 28C or above over the next two days. However, after a dreary start to the month, the odds on August being the hottest on record are longer than usual at 10-1.

“The hot weather will tease us again this weekend if the latest odds are anything to go by, but we aren’t going to hold our breath on it lasting long given the mixed bag of weather we’ve already encountered this summer,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
