Newbury tips for Saturday: Clem Fandango looks Super in feature Sprint

Fandango can lead rivals a merry dance in Super Sprint
Clem Fandango ran a stormer last time out and looks the answer to the Weatherbys Super Sprint on a cracking card at Newbury (16:10).
The Keith Dalgliesh trained filly has only had four starts and came good at the second time of asking when easily landing a maiden at Catterick by 4 1/2 lengths.
Clem Fandango then ran well when beaten just a neck in a class 2 contest at Beverley before taking her form to a new level when third of 17 to Lady Aurelia in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Cracking run against a superstar
Although beaten 9 1/2 lengths by the winner, Lady Aurelia looks something out of the ordinary and put in one of the best two-year-old performances of recent times, while the selection kept on really well to be closing at the finish having raced out wide.
The eighth home, Roly Poly, has also gone on to score twice since, including in a Group 2 at Newmarket, to give the form a boost.
Clem Fandango’s sales price also means she gets in this off a lowly weight of just 8st, and that is going to make her tough to beat now dropped in class.
Scottish can collect for boys in blue
In the 1m 2f Listed contest (15:00), the Godolphin owned Scottish can get back to winning ways following a highly promising reappearance run in better company.
The gelding showed progressive form throughout last season when trained by Andrew Balding, and rounded off the campaign with a game neck success over Mutakayyef in a Listed contest at Ayr.
Mutakayyef is unbeaten in two runs this season and landed a Group 2 at Ascot when last seen in action, and that gives the form a rock solid look in the context of this contest.
Scottish was purchased by the boys in blue after that success and sent to join Charlie Appleby, and shaped really well on his first start for his new handler when third to Time Test in the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown.
The four-year-old kept on well to be beaten 4 3/4 lengths without being unduly knocked about and should now be spot on to do himself justice.
The Tin Man looks solid in Hackwood Stakes
The Tin Man disappointed last time out, but can take advantage of a drop in class to get back to winnings ways in the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes (15:35).
Trained by James Fanshawe, the gelding developed into a top class sprinter last season when winning three times and finishing an excellent 3 3/4 length fourth of 20 to Muhaarar in the Group 1 Champions Sprint at Ascot.
Judged on that effort, The Tin Man looked one to keep onside and the type to do even better as a four-year-old. That view was confirmed when he bolted up by two lengths on return to action in a Listed contest at Windsor.
Although he subsequently failed to shine when well-backed and finishing eighth of nine to Twilight Son in the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, The Tin Man raced too freely in what was a very hot race.
This is far easier and represents an excellent opportunity to show that running to be all wrong.
