Kyle Edmund and Janko Tipsarevic open up the 2016 Davis Cup quarter-final tie between Great Britain and Serbia on Friday afternoon, with both aiming to give their nation an early lead in the first-to-three format.

It is from this match that Coral have picked out bet of the day, with 3/1 odds available for the Englishman to come through in four sets.

Recent Davis Cup winner Edmund and Tipsarevic will be facing off for the first time, as it just so happens that the former’s rise in the game has happened over the last couple of years to coincide with the latter’s spell out due to injuries.

Tipsarevic praises opponent Edmund

The Serb has stated this, and been complimentary of the South African-born Englishman too, saying: “I don’t know much because he broke through in the two years when I was basically in hibernation.

“I know he can play on clay. He’s definitely not your cliche British player that can only play on grass or hard courts.

“He’s like 12 years old, very, very young, and he has a bright future. This is a chance for him to say, ‘Okay, this is not only an Andy Murray team, I can also beat some good players’.”

And, as Tipsarevic explained, Edmund is well adept at playing on clay, which is the surface of the Belgrade courts, as his furthest progression at Grand Slams to date has been at the French Open.

Rapidly rising Edmund to topple fading Serb

At number 67 in the ATP rankings and aged just 21, Englishman Edmund is fast becoming a top player in the game, and certainly one of the best youth stars in the world.

While Tipsarevic enjoyed a brief spell in the top 10, his best days are long gone, while injuries and form issues have seen him drop way down to 405.

Though, the Serb may be able to put up a bit of a fight and show glimpses of his former self, which suggests he can claim a set.

So, what are you waiting for punters? Take these terrific odds of 3/1 for Edmund to win 3-1 to reap rewards!
