Bookies slash odds on hottest weekend of the year

Bookmaker Coral has slashed the odds on this weekend being the hottest of the year to even money from 2-1, as summer is set to return. The firm is quoting odds of 10-1 that temperatures soar above 25C, while it is 2-1 from 8-1 that it is the hottest July on record.

“The Great British summer is set to return this weekend and the odds are starting to suggest that the sizzling weather could last much longer this time,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
