Bookmaker Coral has slashed the odds on Glen Hoddle becoming the next England manager to 4-1 (from 20-1), following a surge of support for the former national team boss this morning.  Gareth Southgate remains favourite to replace Roy Hodgson at 6-4, with Eddie Howe and Alan Pardew 7-1 and 9-1 respectively.

“We made Glen Hoddle a 20-1 outsider following Roy Hodgson’s resignation, but punters made it clear those odds were far too big, and the former coach has been backed all the way down to 4-1 to make a return to the hot seat,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
