Coral’s bet of the day

  • Evans has won 2-1 in the opening round
  • Has beaten Berankis before on similar carpet surface
  • Brit has rapidly risen ranks in last year
  • Evans will have the backing of his home crowd

Evans 3/1 to beat Berankis 2-1

With the Aegon Nottingham Open now underway, British number four Dan Evans is through to the second round after beating fellow Brit Liam Broady.

Evans now faces Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis for a place in the last 16, and it is from this match that Coral have picked their bet of the day for Monday.

The Briton is a brilliant 3/1 shout to beat Berankis in three sets (2-1), and read on to find out why backing this price can see you reap rewards…

Evans, 26, grew up in Birmingham, so is effectively playing in front of a partisan home Midlands crowd, which could affect his opponent.

On top of that, the British Davis Cup winner is in the form of his life, having finally broken into the ATP world top 100.

Evans in form of his life

He started this tournament with a win over English compatriot Broady in three sets, and comes up against Berankis, who he’s even beaten before.

While Evans lost to his now fellow 26-year-old in 2010 in a Wimbledon qualifier, he has dramatically improved over the years, especially in the past 12 months.

The duo met earlier in 2016 on the carpet surface at the Taipei Challenger, which is a similar fast style court to grass, where Evans was the victor.

Berankis may be the ATP world number 53, but Evans has beaten players ranked higher before, so is more than capable of edging through this tie.

So, what are you waiting for punters? Take these brilliant 3/1 odds on Evans winning 2-1 to reap rewards!
