Willis to win a set against Federer at 10/3

ATP world number 772 is set to continue his fairytale run at Wimbledon 2016, as he takes on all-time great Roger Federer in the second round at the All England Club.

It is from this magical mismatch that Coral have picked our Wednesday bet of the day from, as enhanced odds of 9/2 are available for the in-form Briton to win one set.

Read on to find out why you should take a punt as this tasty price…

Seven-time Wimbledon champion Federer may be the heavy favourite to dispose of the previously unheard-of Willis, but looked far form his best when facing Guido Pella – a man who’s never won on grass – in the opening round.

Meanwhile, over on the outside courts, 25-year-old Slough-born Willis was wowing a much smaller crowd by easily sweeping aside world number 53 and former top ranked junior Ricardas Berankis.

“Dream come true” for Willis

On facing Federer, Willis, who will now earn a career-best £50k whatever the outcome, said: “Obviously it’s an amazing dream come true. I get to play on a stadium court. This is what I dreamed of when I was younger.

“I’m going to go out there and try to win the tennis match. I probably won’t. I might not. But I’m going to give everything, as I have the last seven matches.”

But what he can achieve at least is to go out on Centre Court and give the fading Swiss superstar a run for his money, by claiming a set.

Think wildcard Goran Ivanesevic winning Wimbledon in 2001, the late great Muhammad Ali beating Sonny Liston all those years ago. Or, more recently Japan defeating rugby union powerhouse South Africa at the 2015 World Cup, Leicester City claiming the 2015/16 Premier League and even supposed minnows Iceland knocking England out of Euro 2016.

While toppling Federer may be a step too far for Willis, he is still a terrific 9/2 price to win a set, so back this bet while you can.
