Coral’s bet of the day

  • Lukaku was lethal against Republic of Ireland, bagging a brace
  • The Belgium battering ram dispatched first last time these teams tussled
  • Everton’s star centre forward has scored six in as many of his past internationals
  • Sweden have kept just two clean sheets in their last six scuffles

Lukaku fantastic at 4/1 for the opening goal against Sweden

Coral continue to roll out an absolutely cracking roster of bet of the day picks, with Euro 2016 centre stage yet again in Wednesday’s specially selected wager for punters’ pleasure.

This time Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku stars, with the striker fabulous value at 4/1 for the opening goal against Sweden in his team’s final Group E fixture.

The Red Devils roared into life last time out against the Republic of Ireland, with a rousing 3-0 victory, thanks in large part to a brilliant brace from main dangerman Lukaku.

Belgium’s fate is inextricably linked to the form of their most formidable forward, and it’s still all to play for in Pool E, with Marc Wilmots’ men trying to snatch top spot from Italy.

So, read on to find out why a dabble on dangerous Lukaku to draw first blood for Belgium could reap rewards…

Lukaku sparked to life

Belgium’s second outing at Euro 2016, after a team-wide lacklustre opener, saw the Red Devils rally to restore balance and beat Ireland, with Lukaku masterfully leading the line.

The bullish determination, power, pace on the counter attack and ruthless poacher’s finishing, which Premier League fans are so used to seeing, were all combined as Lukaku dispatched a deadly double to dent the Emerald Isle’s ambitions.

Everton’s attacking talisman turned it on for his nation after notching the opener and, as Lukaku looks set to spearhead the Belgian boys to a potential first place pool finish, the marksman may remember he has a history of being first versus Sweden.

Last time the Swedes squared-up to Belgium, back in 2014, it was (you guessed it) Lukaku who lethally tucked away first as his team surged to a 2-0 triumph.

With creative fulcrum Kevin De Bruyne, plus skipper Eden Hazard, behind him the Toffees targetman will be confident of a repeat performance in France.

Having hit home six times now in his last six international outings, Lukaku is easily the best bet to be on target for Belgium, especially against a side which has looked devoid of spark and leaked goals in all but two of their past six games.

After 25 strikes in all competitions at club level this campaign, Lukaku looks best to back at that 4/1 price to poach the opener again, so don’t miss out.
