Another enthralling weekend of sport has come and gone, as the Premier League season was wrapped up with an exciting final day full of thrills and spills, while there was plenty of other action in the Spanish Grand Prix and boxing in Wales.

Belardo builds on success at Newbury
Belardo (8/1) gave owners Godolphin back-to-back successes in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury when coming with a storming late run under jockey Andrea Atzeni to beat Euro Charline by a length, with Irish raider Endless Drama running a blinder to finish a further neck behind in third on his first start for nearly a year.

Live boxing action from the Ice Arena in Cardiff saw Lee Haskins and Andrew Selby reign supreme…
Selby makes Welsh history
Flyweight Andrew Selby, brother of featherweight world champion Lee, became the fastest Welsh boxer to win a British title when earning a unanimous decision victory over Louis Norman on home soil.
Haskins retains bantamweight belt
Lee Haskins retained his IBF world bantamweight title with a unanimous points win over Mexico’s Ivan Morales, younger sibling of former multi-weight world champion Erik, with scores of 118-110, 118-110 and 119-108 all in his favour.

The Premier League final day brought an abundance of drama, as expected, while Celtic ended their successful season with a 7-0 demolition and Hull City edged ahead in the Championship play-off semi-finals…
Tigers claw comfortable Derby lead
Steve Bruce’s Hull side took a big step towards the Championship play-off final with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Derby County in the first leg of their semi, with strikes coming from Abel Hernandez, a Jason Shackell own-goal and Andy Robertson.
Spurs slip up on final day
Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham haplessly finished the campaign in third position, letting bitter rivals Arsenal edge ahead of them into second place, after a shock 5-1 thumping at the hands of relegated Newcastle United. Harry Kane’s misery will have been cushioned by winning this season’s Golden Boot, though.
Pellegrini signs off for Man City
Manuel Pellegrini ended his Manchester City reign with a 1-1 draw against Swansea City, a result which virtually assures them of fourth spot in the top flight table. Kelechi Iheanacho and Andre Ayew were on the scoresheet during the clash in Wales.
Man Utd’s Cherries clash abandoned
In a bizarre series of events at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s final league game against Bournemouth was abandoned due to a suspicious object found at Old Trafford. The game has since been rescheduled for Tuesday night at 8pm, with the device reported to have been a situation-training prop which was carelessly left behind.
Giroud grabs Gunners hat-trick
Olivier Giroud fired Arsenal to second in the Premier League with a hat-trick against basement club Aston Villa, as Arsene Wenger’s Gunners rallied to a comfortable 4-0 triumph.
Seventh-heaven for Hoops
Having already secured a fifth successive Scottish Premiership title, Celtic smashed Motherwell 7-0 before lifting the trophy, with Ronny Deila now set to leave his post as manager at Parkhead.

Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton was involved in a first-lap crash with Mercedes teammate and current Championship leader Nico Rosberg, as the pair collided on Turn Four at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Following the early crash, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen took advantage to make history by becoming the youngest ever Formula 1 race winner at just 18 years of age, pipping Ferrari duo Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel to top of the podium.

Murray downs Djokovic
Scotsman Murray rallied to his first clay-court win over Novak Djokovic and with it the Italian Open title in Rome, as he overcame the world number one 6-3, 6-3.
